Get to know Såstaholm

Såstaholm has a fascinating history to manage.

The mansion was for over 60 years known as "Höstsol" (Autumn Sun), prime residence for many of Swedens old actors and actresses, where they could enjoy the beautiful and peaceful surroundings after they retired from the theater stages.

We take pride in our vibrant and colorful history and honor it by allowing links to our past shine through in everything we do and what you perceive as our guest. The difference from the past is that today it is YOU who has the lead role.

Såstaholm is handing out one of Sweden's biggest prizes in the performing arts.

We want to encourage further generations of performing artists by awarding "Såstaholm price to Höstol (Autumn Sun) memory". 
Every year, a young, promising person from the theater, opera or dance is awarded Sweden's largets perfoming arts prize and a sum of 50,000 swedish crowns.
In addition to the prize money the winner may decorate their own hotel room at Såstaholm and the room is also named after the winner. 

Höstsol's stars still have their own rooms with us.

All our hotelrooms are named after an actor who once upon a time stayed at Höstsol (Autumn Sun).
